Johann Rickmers

Johann "Hans" Rickmers ( May 7, 1881 - November 9, 1923) was a retired cavalry captain, who served in World War I, and was an early member of the Nazi Party. He believed that Adolf Hitler was the only one to restore Germany's military to strength. In the attempt to overthrow the Bavaria and Munich government, which came to be known as Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch, Rickmers was killed along with fifteen others in a standoff with the police. Hitler dedicated Mein Kampf to him and the others killed in the Beer Hall Putsch.
